Our Story

​Readers Take Cornwall was founded in 2024 by Ashley, with the encouragement and support of her friend Bri.

As an avid reader with a background in event planning and entrepreneurship, Ashley noticed a gap in the Eastern Ontario region: there were very few opportunities for readers to gather, connect, and celebrate stories together. She knew that the only way to get a bookish event in their area was to do it herself.   RTC is an event that is intentionally small,  and an intimate experience designed for readers who crave community just as much as they love a good book.

Built on warmth, conversation, and shared enthusiasm for reading, Readers Take Cornwall is about connecting Canadian authors with the bookstagram community, meeting like-minded people, and creating meaningful connections in a welcoming space. 

After RTC's 2025 event, Ashley put together a planning committee - a group of passionate book lovers to help bring life and diversity to future book events.
